Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch has been crowned the new Miss Universe in Thailand on Friday – marking the end of an exceptionally scandal filled pageant season.
The new Miss Universe is a 25-year-old fashion designer and volunteer from Teapa in the southern Mexican state of Tabasco. She was crowned by last year’s winner Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark.
Miss Thailand Praveenar Singh placed first runner up while Miss Venezuela Stephany Abasali placed third, followed by Miss Philippines Ma Ahtisa Manalo and Miss Cote d’Ivoire Olivia Yace.
The contestants from Chile, Inna Moll, China, Zhao Na, Colombia, Vanessa Pulgarin, Cuba, Lina Luaces, Guadeloupe, Ophély Mézino, Malta, Julia Cluett, and Puerto Rico, Zashely Alicea made the Top 12 finalists.
